Struggle to find original genealogy records for western Pennsylvania? The Inventory of County Archives Series, Western Collection CD containing inventories for the following counties: Adams, Berks, Bradford, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Luzerne, and Wayne may just be the genealogical aide you need to discover new sources of genealogy records. This CD does not contain original Pennsylvania genealogy records for the above mentioned counties, but rather provides an index of the available Pennsylvania court records that were being maintained and archived by the counties at the time of original publication. The indexes include a synopsis of how the court records are organized and what a researcher should expect to find within each record group. Many of the record groups date back to the mid 1800s and before. There is no guarantee that the described court records are still available at the county courthouse. However, microfilms of some of the identified record groups are available at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Family History Centers. This CD also includes "PA Counties," a software program for viewing and exploring the evolution of the counties of Pennsylvania. This CD should spark new ideas for exploring seldom examined and forgotten records and is a must for any serious Pennsylvania genealogy researcher. (2268 pp)
