Volume V from the Fifth Series of the Pennsylvania Archives was originally published by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1906. Included on this CD are the Articles of Association passed by the Committee of Safety that outlined the military concerns and operations for the county militias, along with muster rolls related to the Associators and Militia for Bedford, Berks, Bucks and Chester counties during the Revolutionary War. Found within the muster rolls are list of officers and soldiers. In some cases the date of enlistment and discharge is noted. The muster rolls in the Second Series of the Published Pennsylvania Archives were found to be riddled with errors and were in some cases incomplete. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reprinted this volume in order to correct the errors and omissions related to the militias of Bedford, Berks, Bucks and Chester counties. Whether a historian, a Revolutionary War enthusiast, or a genealogist who had ancestors that lived in Bedford, Berks, Bucks or Chester counties during the Revolutionary War time period, this volume will be of interest.
